Lake Havasu March Events RVers Will Love

As the saying goes “fun flows naturally” in Lake Havasu. For years, Lake Havasu has been a haven for fun-lovers of all ages and a favorite for RVers. Whether it’s boating, sailing, fishing; off-roading, hiking, stargazing, or just kicking back to some live music while taking in another spectacular sunset, there is literally never a dull moment.

RVers have been traveling to Lake Havasu for years to enjoy events such as the incredible Balloon Festival. Some have loved it so much, they’ve decided to settle here permanently and become part of our community.

RVers that come to Riverbound usually don’t come alone. They usually come with toys. Boats, quads, PWCs, RZRs, ATVs… you name it. It’s no wonder that the RV lifestyle is so popular because it gives you so much freedom to enjoy our great country in so many ways, and, particularly in Lake Havasu where we’re blessed to have both the water and the desert on our doorstep.

Lake Havasu: Never a Dull Moment

No matter the time of year, there’s always something in the Lake Havasu agenda, from epic events like Desert Storm Poker Run to local monthly community events including:

  • First Friday
A showcase for local artists accompanied by live music and pop-up bars and food stalls. It happens on Main Street the first Friday of every month at 6pm.
  • Local Farmer’s Market
Taking place every 2nd and 4th Saturday morning, the Farmer’s Market is the perfect place to discover local produce, artisans, and chefs.

Every month is packed with events to cater to every kind of RVer. Just looking at the month of March, here’s just a taste of what Riverbounders can look forward to.

Fishing

It’s all about the bass in Lake Havasu which is known nationwide as one of the best bass fishing destinations; it’s teeming with largemouth, smallmouth, and striped bass.

In March, there are a ton of professional and amateur tournaments taking place:

Major League Fishing Bass Tournament Weigh-Ins: March 3-5

Grab a chair and head to Lake Havasu State Park around 3pm to get a good view of the day’s catch.

Southwest Kayaks Fishing Open Championship: March 5, 6am-12.30pm

For kayaking fishermen, this tournament takes place every month throughout the year and is $20 to enter.

JML Weekend Warrier Bass Tournament: March 16, 6am-5pm

For beginner fishermen, this tournament takes place every month until May. If you want to get in some angling practice, this is the event for you.

Watersports

Lake Havasu is 26.3 miles long and 2.85 miles wide. What are you going to do with all that water? Sail, boat, and race on it, of course! Here are the top watersports events in March:

McCulloch Cup Hobie Cat Regatta: March 12, 10am

These cute little catamarans can really catch some speed which makes it a joy to watch them race across Lake Havasu’s pristine waters. This regatta attracts competitors from across the Western U.S and starts from Windsor Beach.

Jet Jam Racing Series: March 19, 10am – 4pm

Jet Jam is the World Championship in PWC and is an awesome family day out. So many Riverbounders are fans of jet-skiing (who wouldn’t be?) and will be amazed at the abilities of the pros, novices, men, women and kids riding. Watch from the beach of the Crazy Horse Campgrounds.

Full Throttle Water X: March 25 – 27

You can never have too many PWC championships, and the next one hits the water just a week later. This new series will be staged at a number of locations in the South West starting at Havasu Landing Resort and Casino. It’s sure to be a blast.

Motorsports

Riverbound is surrounded by BLM crisscrossed with off-road trails. If you’re an ATV, SXS, or motocross racer these events are perfect. Alternatively, grab a chair, a cooler and some beers, and watch others kick up some sand.

WORCS Off-Road Racing

offers two weekends of offroad fun for racers and spectators in Lake Havasu. Both events run from 6am to 10pm.

March 4-6

is a weekend of ATV and SXS (side-by-side) racing, which is sure to be filled with thrills, spills and jumps!

March 11-13

weekend is dedicated to motocross.

Both events take place on the beach at the Island Race Track next to Crazy Horse Campgrounds and first-time racers get 50% off one race fee! Tempted? Sign up!

British MX World Championships: March 19-20

Fan of vintage motorcycles? (Yes, is the obvious answer). This is the weekend to get up close to the best of British vintage bikes, first at the Swap Meet and Vendors row on Saturday and then enjoy them at full throttle on Sunday as they head out from London Bridge Shopping Center. This event is not to be missed! Both events start early (6am and 7am respectively) and go on ‘til mid afternoon.

And there’s more!

Believe it or not, this is only a handful of the events happening in Lake Havasu in March. The month is also crammed with live music, rodeos, speedway, triathlons, pickleball tournaments – there’s even a chowder fest! All of these events are within a short drive from Riverbound which gives you the best of town, desert and lakeside living. At Riverbound, you really can have it all.
